WordPress Maintenance - Keeping Your Website Updated, Fast & Secure

Managing your WordPress Website Maintenance without an in-house development team can be time-consuming. Without the right knowledge, things can go awry and the ongoing updates, performance and security management can eat up a lot of time and resources.

Think of your website as a machine with a lot of moving parts. Regular maintenance will keep it running smoothly, and preventative maintenance minimises the risk of more costly problems or failures.

We handle all of the ongoing routine maintenance for your WordPress, Multisite or WooCommerce website.

We’re obsessed with website health, performance and security. As a specialist WordPress Maintenance Agency, we know the ins and outs of the WordPress platform and how important continuous maintenance and ongoing optimisation are for the success, security and lifespan of a website.

WordPress Updates & Plugin Updates

Speed & Performance Optimisation

Security & Hack Protection

Every year WordPress releases multiple new versions and patch updates. Plugins like Gravity Forms and Yoast regularly do the same. These updates can be for improvements to functionality, performance or security.

As such, it is important that they are kept up-to-date, to ensure your site continues to work correctly and avoid security vulnerabilities.

Equally important, is to ensure you aren’t using any plugins with known vulnerabilities, or that aren’t patched and updated by their creators.

As part of our WordPress Maintenance Services, we monitor for any vulnerabilities that are discovered, and patch them. Our team will make sure that updates are done regularly, and tested on a staging server first, to make sure they don’t break any functionality on your site.

Speed is everything these days. It is a key ranking factor for Google, and users want a fast site. Slow load times mean they’ll go elsewhere. You could have the greatest website in the world, but if it’s slow, all that hard work is squandered if users don’t stick around to view it.

There are a multitude of factors which can slow your site down and create a poor user experience. Hosting, lack of caching, bloated code and lack of image compression are just a handful of potential site speed-choking issues. It can feel like a full-time job staying on top of all of this.

We have a team dedicated to WordPress, who love the challenge of enhancing website speed and performance. Our maintenance plans include regular optimisation tasks to keep our customers’ websites running fast and smoothly, and quality managed WordPress hosting.

There are many myths and misconceptions about the security of WordPress websites. Much of this is down to two reasons.

The first being the very old fashioned idea that WordPress is only a blogging platform when it is in fact fully realised and scalable CMS.

The second reason is that as the market leading CMS, with over 65% market share, we hear more about security breaches on WordPress sites, because there are just so many more of them. They account for 43% of all websites on the internet.

We approach security very methodically, as it is a bit of an obsession for us.

As well as managing and testing all updates, we use and industry leading firewall and website security platform, to monitor and protect the sites we look after.

Our managed hosting provides our customers with the Rolls Royce of hosting infrastructures.

Feedback

I can honestly say Impact has been my favourite agency to work with. Highly organised, efficient & transparent, there's no question they know everything WordPress. They deliver on what they promise and best of all they’re really nice people to work with – very rare to get all the above in one agency.

Responsive & Reliable Website Support & Maintenance

Take a look at some of our case studies. Stories covering speed optimisation, security improvements, and our clients simply gaining the level of support that they needed after feeling let down by their previous agency partners.

Common challenges marketing teams face before coming to Impact:

Searching for a specialist WordPress partner with technical knowledge and experience to handle both support and further development.
The agency that launched the website doesn't provide support or routine website maintenance services.
WordPress Core or plugins are out-of-date and other compliance and security tasks are not being carried out.
The website has been hacked and is not secure. It has no security measures, or no form of backup facility.

The website is slow to load needing various speed and performance improvements.
The website contains third party integrations that are vital to the website's functionality, and they are constantly failing.
Utilising valuable development hours each month investigating and resolving bugs.
There is a delay in communication between the hosting and development companies which is causing issues.

Feedback

Cannot thank this team enough for all of their help with our website! The whole team is a dream to work with. I've learnt so much from them, it's been a completely stress free process and we can finally make the changes we need easily.

WordPress Support & Maintenance FAQ’s

What is a WordPress Support Agency?

A WordPress support agency is a team of experts who specialise in the ongoing care of WordPress websites. From bug fixes and identifying and resolving issues, through to optimisation, and routine maintenance.

How Does Your Support Service Work?

Our Unlimited Support Care plans are monthly Support & Maintenance retainers. They are contract free, and we can create custom plans for more complex websites and support requirements.

We also offer add ons to these plans for out of hours support.

If you’re not on one of our support plans, time is purchased on account which we can use to begin our investigation. Time is sold in 1/2 day slots.

Do you provide support for websites built by other agencies?

Yes, we can support sites built by other agencies. First we would recommend booking a WordPress Website Health Check, so we can investigate how your site has been built, and what level of support you’ll require.

What is WordPress Maintenance?

It’s not enough to build an amazing website, if you then leave it to fall apart. Just as you wouldn’t buy a vintage car and not look after it. We maintain and service our cars, and we need to do the same for our websites to keep them running smoothly.

WordPress maintenance includes all of the regular tasks which need to be carried out, like updates. Along with optimisation to fine tune performance, and security, to make sure your website stays safe from attacks.

Why is WordPress Support & Maintenance important?

Most businesses don’t have the luxury of an internal web development and maintenance team.

Many struggle to manage things internally, only reaching out for help when things have gone wrong. When their business is losing out on revenue or leads.

Having a support and maintenance agency onboard, for a small monthly cost, can remove day to day maintenance from your workload. Ensuring your website is kept up-to-date, whilst dramatically improving performance and security.

It will give you access to experts to address any bugs or issues that arise. Along with immediate support in the event that your website goes down, minimising the impact on your bottom line.

Why use an Agency for Support & Maintenance?

Maintaining websites can be very time consuming and requires technical expertise and development skills.

At Impact, we assign website support and maintenance across multiple experienced team members. We have access to many premium 3rd party solutions and platforms to help with the management of your website.

We are WordPress & WooCommerce specialists, and have in depth technical knowledge on working with both.
