With Christmas fast approaching, have you prepared your website for the festive season? In a previous post we discussed being ready from a technical standpoint, but what about design and content?
Here are a few little ideas to add some festive cheer to your website.
Turn your website into a winter wonderland, and allow all your visitors to experience gently falling snow, without the chill!
This one is a very popular option at this time of year.
Spruce up your logo for the festive season. Addition a Santa hat like in the example below, or something equally jolly. Speak to your designer or developer about what will work with your logo.
You might want to give your website a little seasonal spruce up, by introducing some festive colours and imagery to evoke the time of year. Make sure to speak to whoever manages your website, and make sure your images are sized and optimised correctly.
Create a sense of urgency, or keep users aware of your final order dates, shipping dates, or sale end dates.
Or simply have a timer counting down the days until Christmas Day. Make sure to get this booked in with your developer in advance of when you want the countdown to begin!
Ensure your social media posts are equally festive. Do you need to get graphics in the various sizes required for each social channel briefed and made?
For those sending out Christmas emails, how about a festive animated graphic that can be placed into your emails? Whether you pronounce it gif or jif, these can add visual impact, and make an otherwise static email really standout.
Got a big sale coming up? Don’t forget to get your graphics ready for your website, promotional emails, and social media.
In this example, Elementor used a candy cane custom cursor, but you could have baubles, gifts, trees, bells, or a Christmas stocking.
Last one on the list. Don’t forget about written content. Is there any useful Christmas related content you provide your users with, relevant to your industry? Gift guides, survival guides, special recipes, information on services specific to the time of year?
There are just a few ideas to get you thinking about what you can do with your site during the Christmas 2022 buildup. If you need any development or design help implementing Christmas features, get in touch and subject to availability, we can add a bit of festive magic to your WordPress website.
