Challenge & Objectives
Anthony Gregg Partnership approached Impact in 2020, for a new modern website. Their old site was built on WordPress, so they were already sold on the platform, but their site hadn’t changed much in 12 years, and no longer truly reflected their brand and expertise.
The old site had very limited page templates, which displayed information in a hard to digest and text heavy format. Difficult for their time poor audience to access the information needed. Important information like telephone numbers did not stand out.
The site was bland, and lacked imagery. It was built on a pre-made theme, which wasn’t built around the needs of the business. The design didn’t fit the candidate and client perceptions, for a business filling such high profile roles.
AGP had also started to invest in SEO, and the existing website was not built with search in mind.
We were tasked with the design and development of a new website, on a tight deadline, which captured their values, demonstrated their expertise and would serve as the digital home of their roles. It needed to be built around SEO best practice, and easy to use for AGP employees, in order to make regular updates and additions to content and roles, along with their blog.
We kicked off with a Website Strategy Workshop, including AGP’s key stakeholders, and our SEO partner for this project, Distinctly. This allowed us to delve deeper into their business their requirements, the functionality needed, and their audience personas and needs.
SEO Baked In
As is our preferred method, we Involved an SEO partner from the get go, ensuring the site was built with SEO best practice in mind.
The wireframing and design phases consisted of creating 14 page templates. Each stage included review and feedback time, to ensure each template was fit for purpose, with a functional layout, optimised user journeys, and then an on-brand look and feel.
Easy To Use
Our aim for every site we build, is to create a simple user experience for those taking over the running of the site day to day. This was no different.
We wanted to ensure that AGP could add new roles, new sectors, employees and posts to their site, without the need to pay for additional development time. We used Elementor as the page builder solution, to give them the ability to create these new pages in keeping with the existing ones, and with ease. This also took into account their SEO agency, making ongoing on-page optimisation simple for them, with no delays waiting for changes from others.
On top of this we provided a set of training videos which live on their site, so their employees can refresh their skills at any time.
Custom Content Types
We designed and developed a number of custom post types for AGP’s roles, testimonials and services. These are all custom, expandable, and easily cloned by the team at AGP when adding additional content to their site, and go hand in hand with Elementor.
Secure Application Area
We created functionality within the job roles section, so that when users view a role of interest to them, they can securely register their interest in that role.
Many of the roles AGP recruit for are under strict NDA, so many cannot be listed with vendor or salary.
We designed and developed a navigation spotlight dropdown for each venue site, providing quick access to all venues, brochure downloads, and the key USPs that Country House Weddings offer, when booking a wedding with them.
Technology & Plugins
Aside from WordPress, the website uses Gravity Forms to manage form data and personalisation, and is integrated with Mailchimp.
Elementor is used for easy on-brand page building for the AGP team.
Yoast is included to simplify on-page optimisation for the client’s SEO agency.
