The collaboration between social networking site Facebook and Microsoft search engine Bing is to be extended over the coming months, according to a representative from the latter company.
General manager at Bing Jon Tinter described on the firm’s official Search Blog how this link will affect the delivery of SEO services worldwide, since the two organisations will bring their integrated search to users outside the US.
Mr Tinter explained that Facebook is set to sell display ads on the social media portal, while Bing will take care of the web search results.
He remarked: "Facebook has been a close and valued partner of Microsoft for a number of years. We have worked together on several fronts all designed to create great experiences and services."
In his view, the enhanced collaboration between the two firms will provide people with a more "complete" search hub.
Last week, Bing revealed that it has set up a function which offers users an instant round-up of the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards by typing "Grammy’s" into its search portal.
