Tens of thousands of website owners have provided more information to the people whose products and services appear on their advertising space by using Google’s Ad Planner, the search engine reveals.

'Tens of Thousands' Use Google Ad Planner Wayne Lin, product manager for the newly renamed DoubleClick Ad Planner, writes on the Inside AdSense blog of the new features included in the pay per click management software.

They include the inclusion of information directly from publishers’ Google Analytics results, allowing advertisers to achieve greater insight into where their marketing messages are being displayed.

A number of traffic estimates have also been improved in the new version, although estimates of overall reach and unique user counts remain unaffected.

Mr Lin writes: "We are continuing to invest in the product in order to provide the deepest, most accurate data possible."

He adds that, with the latest changes, Google has "improved how we calculate site traffic by over ten per cent".
