Bing may win the battle against Google when assessing which organisation has made the best use of Twitter, it has been claimed.

Has Bing Beaten Google in the Twitter Battle? Writing for Search Engine Watch, Bas van den Beld points out that when the two first started their associations with the social networking site last year, Google chose the integrated search results option.

Bing on the other hand opened a specific page for Twitter searches, which means that the results are not combined with a normal search.

According to Mr van den Beld, Bing may have made the right decision, as a survey conducted by Oneupweb shows that the real-time results shown in Google are often overlooked by users.

"Bing might have chosen the best route to go. Most probably even without knowing it themselves," he adds.

Last week, senior economics analyst at Google Quing Wu wrote on the company’s official blog that many people used SEO services to monitor all the action at the Oscars, as significant spikes were seen in the number of queries about certain actors and films.
